NetSend - software for sending messages in network LAN

Netsend is a software for sending messages in network LAN with a graphical user interface.
There is an API-function for the console command NET SEND (from Windows NT, 2000, XP)
NET SEND {name | * | /DOMAIN[:name] | /USERS} message

Installation

Program NETSEND.EXE must be installation on the network server. Workstation run this program from network server.

You can start or stop Messenger Service at any time. And you can also configure it in such a way that it would start automatically at the system startup. There is a special program for controlling all services in the system - Services.

Attention: At present there are programs for sending spam via Messenger Service that is why you should make sure that your firewall would not allow packets for Messenger Service to pass from the Internet.

Windows XP Home

  1. Click Start->Settings ->Control Panel
  2. Click Performance and Maintenance
  3. Click Services
  4. Click Administrative Tools
  5. Double click Services Scroll
  6. Scroll down and highlight "Messenger"
  7. Right-click the highlighted line and choose Properties
  8. Click the Start button
  9. Select Automatic in the Startup Type scroll bar
  10. Click OK

Windows XP Professional

  1. Click Start->Settings ->Control Panel
  2. Click Administrative Tools
  3. Click Services
  4. Double click Services Scroll
  5. Scroll down and highlight "Messenger"
  6. Right-click the highlighted line and choose Properties
  7. Click the Start button
  8. Select Automatic in the Startup Type scroll bar
  9. Click OK

Windows 2000

  1. Click Start-> Settings-> Control Panel-> Administrative Tools->Services
  2. Scroll down and highlight "Messenger"
  3. Right-click the highlighted line and choose Properties
  4. Click the Start button
  5. Select Automatic in the Startup Type scroll bar
  6. Click OK

Windows NT

  1. Click Start ->Control Panel
  2. Double Click Administrative Tools
  3. Select Services-> Double-click on Messenger
  4. In the Messenger Properties window, select Start
  5. Then choose Automatic as the Startup Type
  6. Click OK

Registration

After making the payment, send the "number to send", in menu TOOLS, REGISTRATION by e-mail to the author’s address. Then you will receive a registration number. In the NETSEND program, select TOOLS, REGISTRATION and input the registration number in the edit box. Press OK.
